Missing Chinatown (2013)

a film essay that traces the search for the remnants of a small Chinatown that once existed in Hamburg’s Reeperbahn district at the beginning of the 20th century. Through this exploration, the film uncovers a largely forgotten history and sheds light on the persecution of Chinese communities during the Nazi era. It reflects on absence, memory, and the ways in which histories can disappear from the urban landscape.
