Flows is a short film exploring female transformation. A woman writes and rewrites her own story, immersing herself in her emotions until she confronts a new state of being and begins to accept it. Flows of water wash away the past and open space for renewal.
Working with celluloid, Natalia creates all effects directly in camera—layering multiple exposures and engaging with the materiality of film itself. This process echoes the film’s transformation, unfolding through light, texture, and chemical change, mirroring the transformation taking place within the film.
Flows unfolds as a silent, perceptual journey where images accumulate through rhythm and duration. Moving between spaces and states, the film traces transformation not as narrative progression, but as a continuous flow of perception. The body and environment shift through layered temporalities, where meaning emerges gradually through movement and repetition.
